"One of the issues is related to the budget," the mayor noted here, Tuesday (Apr 4).

The Boras administration is helping Palu to develop an urban forest in Talise Village, Mantikulore District.

The forest will be developed on an arboretum land measuring 90 hectares, the mayor remarked.

Currently, the preparation of the land area is underway, and the project is expected to be implemented according to plan.

"We want to plant Central Sulawesi`s endemic trees in the urban forest," Hidayat pointed out.

According to Hidayat, the Boras administration plans to develop environment-based educational schools for the local people in Palu City.

"In addition to the schools, we will develop the urban forest as an ecology research center," the mayor emphasized.

The development of the urban forest is the realization of a green open space in Palu City, as mandated by Law No. 26 of 2017 on Spatial Planning, stating that every city shall set aside at least 30 percent of the area of the city for developing urban forests.
