Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - Bali Police have arrested a Bulgarian man, Stoyanov Georgi Ivanov (43), for alleged skimming in an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) in Ubud, Gianyar, on Saturday (Aug 31).
"Suspect Stoyanov Georgi Ivanov has illegally accessed the ATM located in a restaurant in Ubud. He was trying to install a hidden camera in the ATM machine," Spokesman of the Bali Police Senior Commissioner Hengky Widjaja said here on Sunday.
The suspect was caught red-handed by a patrolling police officer who has suspicion on his action, he said.
Following the arrest, the police conducted a search in his house at Kresna Ulun Tanjung Street, Kuta, Badung, and seized a cellular phone, a passport, four cameras, and a router.
Stoyanov Georgi Ivanov is charged with articles on illegal access of the Criminal Code and Law No 19/2016 on Electronic Transaction and Information.
"The suspect is still under the Bali Police custody, and the police will conduct further investigation," he said.
