The current flooding was worse than the earlier one that had affected the village last week, Rogo Village Chief Fuad Hudin noted here on Sunday.
"Again, it is a flash flood, but it is worse than the previous one," he remarked.
The flooding submerged residential areas, thereby forcing local residents to flee to higher ground.
"We have evacuated all of them to the neighboring villages, and there are also people's homes in hamlets that are not affected," he noted.
"The floodwaters carry mud and timber," he added
The Sigi authorities deployed heavy equipment to clear mud and wood in the affected areas.
On August 29, 2021, a flash flood carrying mud, rock, and wood, swamped the village and buried dozens of houses at a height of up to two meters, thereby compelling local residents to flee to safer places.
