Tenders Could Be Held For Projects Before Budget Approval

Palu, C Sulawesi, (antarasulteng.com) - Central Sulawesi Governor Longki Djanggola said that tenders for projects to be financed with funds from 2017 state budget could be held before the budget is approved.
The policy is to better guarantee that the projects would be completed as scheduled, Longki Djanggola said in a meeting of budget evaluation team here on Tuesday.
Regional administration spokesman Ridwan Mumu said in a news release the policy is set by the central government to accelerate implementation and completion of government projects.
"It is the policy of the central government. The purpose is that tenders for projects to be implemented by the government could start when the budget is still in the process of discussion," Ridwan said.
Meanwhile, secretary of the Nasdem faction at the regional legislative assembly (DPRD) Ibrahim Hafid said the process of tender for project could not yet be held before the budget is approved.
Ibrahim said he was surprised and wonder about the purpose of tender before the budget is approved as currently the regional income and expenditure budget for 2017 is till in the early process of discussion.
He said if the policy is based on the regulation of the central government, he had yet to see the regulation.
He said it would be safer for the regional administration to hold tender after the budget is approved by the government and the legislative assembly.
