PGRC To Build Oil Refinery In Palu

Palu, C Sulawesi,  (antarasulteng.com) - PT Palembang GMA Refinery Consortium (PGRC) teams up with Dassault Systemes as a technology partner in the plan to build an oil refinery in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) of Palu, Central Sulawesi.

PGRC officiated the groundbreaking of the oil refinery project with a processing capacity of 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

PGRC and its partner also will build a petrochemical and strategic petroleum stock complex all to cost more than US$9.8 billion

Managing Director of Asia Pacific South Dassault Systemes Masaki Sox Konno said Dassault is interested in industries operated by the government such as oil and gas industry transformed into digital industry with the platform of 3Dexperience.

"We are glad that we are named as strategic technology partner and could witness big opportunity and potentials that the technology would give to the project with its positive impact on those involved in it," Masaki said here on Wednesday.

The integrated oil refinery project that includes petrochemical and strategic petroleum stock complex will operate with high, efficient, safe and secure technology in line with the euro standard, he said.

The partnership would lead to transfer of technology to engineers of PGRC in managing and planning oil refinery construction , the first after 20 years using the platform of 3Dexperience of Dassault Systemes.

The oil refinery would be the first industrial project in the KEK of Palu.

PGRC Director Dr Mohammad Rusydi said his company is enthusiastic to make a history with the construction of an oil refinery with high technology.

In addition to be the first oil refinery built after a long time, the PGRC refinery in Palu would be built through construction process fully managed with the platform of 3D from Dassault Systemes as a technology partner.

The success of the project would have a significant economic impact for KEK in Palu and industry in that area, Rusydi said. (skd)
