Palu, Central Sulawesi, Sept 25 (Antara) - A total of 15 international teams have registered their riders to participate in the second edition of the international Tour de Central Celebes (TdCC-II) in Central Sulawesi Province on October 14-18, 2018.
"The registration demonstrates the high enthusiasm of international riders to participate in this competition," TdCC Race Director Hasan remarked here on Tuesday.
This international cycle race offers a momentum to showcase the beauty, cleanliness, safety, and hospitality of the local residents to the participants of TdCC II from several countries in the world.
Hasan noted that during the TdCC-I last year, the teams had registered their riders only three or four days before the race, but in the TdCC-II, the international teams had registered their riders a month in advance.
According to Hasan, each team has registered five riders and three officials.
Furthermore, he revealed that 10 foreign teams and five national teams had registered their riders in addition to five reserve teams.
The TdCC was sanctioned by the Union Cyclist Internationale (UCI), or the International Bicycle Union, and made it highly popular among world riders.
In addition, the bonus provided by the organizers is also increasingly attractive, with a total value of Rp1.3 billion, double that of TdCC I-2017.
TdCC II-2018 will take place in five stages over 760 kilometers: Stage I, Luwuk-Bunta; Stage II, Ampana-Poso; Stage III, Tentena-Parigi; Stage IV, Parigi-Sigi; and Stage V, Donggala-Palu.
