Palu, C Sulawesi, (antarasulteng.com) - The Indonesian Islamic Educational Institution (IAIN) of Palu, Central Sulawesi province is establishing cooperation with several leading European universities of Finland, Denmark and Sweden.
"The cooperation is aimed at improving IAIN`s education," IAIN Rector Prof. Zainal Abidin said here on Tuesday.
He added that IAIN and the Indonesian Ministry of Religion have met a representative of the Department of Humanities of the Copenhagen University.
"We have visited the university and directly observed the buildings, boarding schools and libraries," the rector stated.
He pointed out that the Indonesian entourage has also visited several universities in Finland and Sweden, and learned about the aspects in which they excel.
According to the rector, Finland`s educational system is one of the best in the world.
Based on a survey by Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Finnish students attained top ranks compared with others around the world due to their national educational system.
Meanwhile, Denmark is known as a top provider of scholarship in Europe, not only for European students but also for those from other countries.
In Sweden, schools and universities implement humanist educational system that allows all citizens access to education from elementary to high school level free of charge.
