After suicide bombing, police appeals to people to stay calm.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police urged people to stay calm following a suicide bombing at the Medan Police headquarters in Medan, North Sumatra, on Wednesday morning.

"We urge everyone to remain calm and continue with their activities," National Police spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo, said at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Wednesday.

Dedi emphasized that the National Police would investigate the terrorism case to ensure people feel safer.

"For this reason, the police request support so that the case will soon be solved; we will focus on guaranteeing community security," Dedi said.

At least six people were injured in the suicide bombing.

Four of them are police officers Police Commissioner (Komisaris Polisi) Abdul Mutolip; Police Commissioner (Komisaris Polisi), Sarponi; Police Sub-Inspector (Ajun Inspektur Polisi Dua), Deni Hamdani; and Police Chief Brigadier (Brigadir Polisi Kepala), Juli Chandra; one staffer, Ricard Purba; and one civilian, Ihsan Mulyadi.
