TdCC To Serve As Medium To Promote Central Sulawesi`s Tourism

Palu, Central Sulawesi, (antarasulteng.com) - The upcoming international cycling race of Tour de Central Celebes (TdCC), due to be held on November 6-8, 2017, is expected to serve as a medium to promote the tourism potential of Central Sulawesi Province.

"This is a great event and should be utilized optimally by the local government and communities to promote tourism in the province," spokesman of the Central Sulawesi Indonesian Employers Association Achrul Udaya remarked here on Wednesday.

According to Udaya, the event involving several foreign participants from some 30 countries should be maximally utilized by the local government, business players, and communities in Central Sulawesi.

Udaya also expressed hope that each region to be passed by the TdCC participants would showcase the local wisdom.

"This is a golden opportunity to showcase the local wisdom as Indonesia`s culture exists in every district and city in Central Sulawesi," he said.

In the meantime, Central Sulawesi Tourism Office Chief Ardiansyah Lamasitudju has remarked that the areas to be traversed by the TdCC participants will make the necessary preparations to organize a culture-based welcoming ceremony and serve traditional culinary delicacies in line with the local wisdom.

He said the international cycling race of TdCC will cover a total distance of 487 kilometers and pass through the districts of Tojo Unauna, Poso, Parigi Moutong, and Sigi and the city of Palu.

"Each stopover area will organize its own cultural and art attraction and offer culinary delights to welcome the participants of the cycling race and to entertain them," Lamasitudju remarked.

He reiterated that each district and city will hold a regional culinary exhibition, cultural performances, and dances to welcome and entertain the participants of the TdCC cycling race.

He said that until now, preparations for implementing the TdCC had reached 90 percent completion.Hence, the Central Sulawesi provincial government is committed to ensuring the success of these activities.

He explained that 15 teams, comprising 10 teams from 30 foreign countries and five teams from Indonesia, will participate in the TdCC international cycling race.(skd)
